Lightening Rod Projector 2000

lightning_rod My newest invention is the Lightening Rod Projector 2000. When lighting hits the metal bag, it travels up a wire to a tin foil part on a spoon and blasts lighting away.

Q: Have you tested this?

A: No, I need a lightning storm.

Q: Why do you need a Lighting Rod Projector 2000, and where and how would you use it?

A: I would leave it in my front yard, in a high place such as the top of a tree.  When the lighting strikes the tree; instead of it striking the tree and setting it on fire, it would strike the Lightning Rod Projector and blast the lightning away.

How To Celebrate Calvin & Hobbes Day

calvin_day I declare October 4th and 5th are Calvin & Hobbes Days.  On these two days, you celebrate everything about Calvin and Hobbes.

Today, I dressed up like Hobbes and had fun.  I got a water pistol and squirted my sister.  She did not like it, and bit me.  I already climbed some trees, and I'm waiting for my dad to get back so I can pounce on him.

Here are some of the things you can do on Calvin & Hobbes Day.

1.  You play the national sport, Calvin Ball, where the only rule is that you can't play the same way twice.

2.  You steal cookies.

3.  You have to get in loads of trouble.

4. You have to be very specific about how your parents should make your PB&J sandwich.

6.  You have to throw water balloons at the kids in your neighborhood, preferably girls named "Susie."

7.  You have to climb loads of trees.

8.  Get a water pistol and squirt everyone.

9.  Play with a bunch of cardboard boxes.

10. Read a bunch of Calvin & Hobbes to get your own ideas.

The Peregrine Falcon

Wow! That's a fast bird. His name is Frightful, just like my favorite character in the best book ever, My Side of the Mountain.

I tried to fly as fast as Frightful, but it didn't work out so well.

Chickadee and the Clay!

My friend Catherine and I were making stuff out of clay. I made chickadees. They are cute and fuzzy. I made several chickadees and a cardinal, but the cardinal only lasted a day. Here are instructions for how to make chickadees:

  1. Get a bit of yellow modelling clay.

  2. Put your hands on each side of the yellow clay and roll it around until it forms a ball.

  3. Get two small pieces of green modelling clay and put them on each side of the top of the chickadee for eyes.

  4. Get two pieces of black modelling clay and put them each side of the yellow ball for wings.

  5. Get a small piece of red clay and make it into a cone shape. Stick it on the front of the ball.

  6. Get another two pieces of red clay and put them on each side of the bottom of your yellow ball.

  7. Then you have a chickadee.
