Who Were The Vikings?
Vikings were people who lived in 800 AD to 1050 AD. They lived in Europe. One important Viking was Arick The Red. The Vikings were strong fighters. They invented the axe, the hammer, and the flat bottom boat! AND they were the second to find America! They were fighters, farmers, raiders, and traders! So the better question is who were the Vikings not?
In my unit on Vikings I read a book by Frid Inguistad. It was a historical fiction with historical inaccuracies (like the fact that the Vikings did not end with peace with the natives) called Magnus the Viking. In this story a Viking boy goes to Vinland and meets a Native American boy named Maku. But can the two boys stop the war between the two groups?
One more book I read for my unit was called History dudes: Vikings by Rich Camdo here is what I wrought about it:
Do you know the word berserk? Do you know it’s a Viking nick name? Ber is bear in Viking and serk means shift in Viking. So berserk means bear shift. Vikings went “berserk “in battle it was said that when they went berserk they became powerful fighters, and they sometimes killed their own friends!
So as I said Vikings were a lot of things not just fighters and raiders like most people think!
Here are some of the books I read on vikings:

My Review of Spore

Spore is a game about evolution. Every time you start a new game from the very beginning, it goes from when an asteroid crashes on a planet until your species develops to the point of a space age with a UFO.
This game rocks. It is very complex.
In it, you will design an alien and make choices that will affect the future of your alien. You can choose whether it will be a carnivore or herbivore. You can choose what body parts to give it. You can choose to befriend or attack other species. Each choice affects your other choices. For example, if you choose that your alien will be a herbivore, this affects what kind of mouth it can have.
In this complex game, it isn't easy to get your alien race to the space age. Will you be successful? Will your alien get to the space age?

Line Rider

Line Rider is a fun game. I've been playing it for an entire year. Every time, I set up a sledding course I try to make it so that there are cool stunts but he stays on the sled. One time I even got him to do a back flip without falling off. I don't really care if he falls off, because he keeps on moving anyway.
Here is some information about the newest fad in the world, Line Rider:
Boy grabs sled. Boy rides sled. A simple concept yields endless fun and the
latest Internet Phenomenon is born! In Line Rider the player draws their own
landscape with a simple pencil tool creating as many ramps, hills, and jumps as
they can imagine. Then they send a virtual sledder careening down the course
until he wipes out. The possibilities in Line Rider are only limited by the
player's imagination.
